I found this recipe in GNC's WellBella magazine and decided to give it a try this morning. I love the fact that it contains a cup full of blueberries,
one of the most antioxidant-rich fruits available, and the high-energy protein and fat of the nut butter in this smoothie is great post-workout, best of all, it tastes GREAT!
Ingredients
- 1 medium banana, broken into several pieces
- 1 cup blueberries
- 2 tablespoons natural peanut, cashew, or almond butter
- 1 cup low-fat organic vanilla or berry yogurt or soy yogurt
- 1 cup vanilla rice milk or soy milk
- 1/2 cup crushed ice, optional
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve 2 to 3.
Note: I put my remaining smoothie in an airtight jar for later.
