Chasing Lauren

I love the expression on people's faces when I tell them I'm a grandmother. It cracks me up. For a few brief moments I might milk it for all it's worth and let them think that I've either had some really good cosmetic surgery or that I've cheated father time, but then I admit that I was a young mother and that I am only 46. After that you can't get me to shut up about my eighteen month old granddaughter, Lauren, a.k.a. "Pineapple," and now that I'm blogging, you'll be seeing a lot of her.

My daughter, Amanda, and son-in-law, Adam, drove down from Pennsylvania with her last Friday and spent the weekend with Jonnie and I. You couldn't wipe the smile off of my face the entire weekend. I didn't go to the gym, I didn't shop, I didn't blog; I spent the weekend doing what I do best - chasing Lauren.

When I say I didn't do my regular routine, I mean even my hair. I'm a mess in this picture but I'm so happy.

This child is the happiest baby I've ever seen and so photogenic.
Here she is trying to put on her sunglasses.

She loves the pool; not so crazy about the water at the beach but she loves picking up shells and putting them in her bucket.
